Mission and Values

Our mission:  OUTreach works to build happy, healthy lives in a safe and welcoming community for LGBTQ people and neighbors.

All persons deserve the right to achieve their full potential, free from discrimination, bias and bullying.  We recognize that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning and queer persons don't always have that opportunity.  Too often students are bullied in their schools because they "look gay" with the result that those bullied students are less likely to attend school, graduate and attend college.

OUTreach works to BUILD happy, healthy lives for ALL people, through providing safe space for youth and adults to socialize, learn and grow.  We teach life skills, raise self-esteem through programs, mentoring and leadership opportunities.  We provide resources for families to learn to support each other, to prevent youth homelessness, and aid youth who are experiencing homelessness.

OUTreach teaches increased HEALTH for youth and adults - healthy nutrition and lifestyle choices, how to combat addiction, and prevent addictions from starting.  We teach healthy sexuality, safety, respect and relationships.

OUTreach supports those who wish to be allies to LGBT youth and adults.  We educate, refer, collaborate and celebrate all efforts to create a more inclusive and supportive community where all persons can live into their full potential.  That is OUTreach.
